Booking & availability

What happens if all the totes are booked?

We keep exactly 1,200 totes, so the calendar won’t accept a booking your plan can’t be covered for. Instead you can join the waitlist for that date. We’ll quote you the next date your plan fits and let you know if totes come home early.

How far ahead do I need to book?

At least 2 days before your drop-off date. Month-end and college move-in weekends fill up first, so book those as early as you can.

Why does the calendar block a date that looks quiet?

Because we check the whole rental period, not just drop-off day. A 21-day plan starting on an open date still needs enough totes on every one of those days, so a busy week later in the month can close an earlier start date.

Can I change or cancel my dates?

Email us as soon as you know. Moving the dates depends on what’s free in the hive for the new period, which is why we ask you to check before rebooking.

Do you deliver on weekends?

The calendar shows the dates we can cover, weekends included. Pick a drop-off window of 8–11 am, 11 am–2 pm or 2–5 pm when you book.

Totes & packing

How big is each tote?

Each Greenmade tote holds 12 gallons and measures 21 × 15.5 × 19 inches, with a plastic body and a plastic lid.

How many totes do I need?

The plans are sized by home: 10 totes for a dorm, 25 for a studio, 40 for a 1 bedroom, 60 for 2–3 bedrooms, 80 for 3–4 and 120 for a 4–5 bedroom house. If you’re between two, the larger plan costs less per tote.

Do the totes come with lids?

Yes. Every tote comes with its lid, and the lids are what make the stacks stable in the truck.

Can I label the totes?

Use something removable like painter’s tape or a tag. Please don’t write on, drill or cut the totes — they go out on the next move after yours.

Can I keep them longer than the rental period?

Ask us before your pick-up date. An extension depends on whether those totes are already promised to the next booking, which you can see on the availability page.

Transport

How is transport priced?

Up to 60 miles: drop-off $20, pick-up $20, or $30 for a round trip. 61 miles or more: drop-off $40, pick-up $40, or $60 for a round trip. If we pick up from a different address than we dropped off, each way is charged separately — for example $40 within 60 miles.

Where is the distance measured from?

From Keller, TX. Within 60 miles covers most of Dallas–Fort Worth, including Fort Worth, Arlington, Denton, Dallas, Plano and McKinney.

I’m moving within my apartment complex. Is that a round trip?

Yes. Moves within the same university, neighborhood or complex are priced as a round trip: $30 within 60 miles, or $60 beyond.

Can you drop off at one address and collect from another?

Yes — choose “Different addresses” at checkout and give us both. Each way is charged separately because it’s two trips.

Payment & fees

Which payment methods do you accept?

Credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Bookings are paid in full; we don’t offer buy-now-pay-later services like Afterpay or Klarna.

What if a tote gets damaged or a lid goes missing?

Damaged totes are $15 each and missing lids are $8 each. They’re counted at pick-up and charged to the payment method on your booking.

When do I pay?

At booking. The total covers your plan plus transport, and it’s what reserves your totes in the hive for those dates.

Do you work with realtors, schools or apartment complexes?

Yes. Email us with the number of moves and the dates and we’ll put a plan together — realtors often book totes as a closing gift for buyers.

Still have a question?

Send us the details of your move and we’ll come back with a plan, a date and a price.
